Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage incoming medico-legal cases, primarily IMEs and MRRs
  • Conduct and document conflict checks to ensure compliance with legal requirements
  • Schedule and manage physician calendars for legal work including IMEs, MRRs, depositions, and trial testimony
  • Collect and track required case documentation from attorneys or paralegals
  • Track and manage medical records, imaging, and supporting documentation for each case
  • Monitor case progression to ensure timely delivery and deadlines
  • Coordinate logistics for depositions, hearings, and trial appearances
  • Track payments, billing, and case status for reporting
  • Serve as liaison between attorneys, paralegals, physicians, and internal teams
  • Maintain organized records of medico-legal cases and activities
  • Ensure compliance with policies and regulations

The Legal Coordinator supports the medico-legal department by coordinating legal workflows, managing physician involvement in independent medical exams (IMEs) and medical record reviews (MRRs), and ensuring timely, accurate handling of all case-related activities. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to effectively prioritize competing deadlines in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage incoming medico-legal cases, primarily IMEs and MRRs
  • Conduct and document conflict checks to ensure compliance with legal and organizational requirements
  • Schedule and manage physician calendars for legal work, including IMEs, MRRs, depositions, and trial testimony
  • Collect and track required case documentation, including purpose letters from attorneys or paralegals
  • Track and manage medical records, imaging, and supporting documentation for each case
  • Monitor case progression to ensure all required materials are received, reviewed, and completed within deadlines
  • Coordinate logistics for depositions, hearings, and trial appearances as needed
  • Track payments, billing, and case status to support accurate financial and operational reporting
  • Serve as a liaison between attorneys, paralegals, physicians, and internal teams
  • Maintain organized and accurate records of all medico-legal cases and related activities
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with organizational policies and applicable regulations
