POSITION TITLE: Legal Assistant / Victim Services
LOCATION: District 12 District Attorney’s Office, Mayes County Office in Pryor
STATUS: Full Time
SALARY: Salary based upon experience and qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a legal or social services related field; or a combination of education in Victim/Survivor Services and experience in the victims field.
  • Self-disciplined with excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
  • Excellent adaptability skills.
  • The person in this position will be required to talk extensively to victims of violent crime who may be emotionally distraught.
  • Superb listening skills, patience, and empathy are critical.
  • In addition, qualified individuals must possess proper self-care techniques to manage stress and have crisis response experience or experience in working with victims of violent crime.
  • Excellent work ethics and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent computer, writing, spelling, data entry, and typing skills.
  • The ability to remain calm with people in crisis and get along with a variety of people from different backgrounds.
  • The ability to learn quickly.
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality and disassociate self from the effects of listening to and reading of graphic crime information.
  • The position performs a variety of administrative duties including data entry, preparation of documents, filing of documents, preparation of files.
  • This position also provides customer service to the public, Judicial Offices, Attorney’s and Courthouse staff.
