Job summary

Gallagher Sharp LLP is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to manage the firm's receivables, focusing on legal e-billing, collections, invoice resolution, and appeals. The role requires 3+ years in AR or billing within a law firm or professional services, familiarity with e-billing platforms and carrier guidelines, and strong attention to detail.

You will work closely with billing attorneys, clients, and insurance carriers, supporting monthly aging analyses and cash flow

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounts receivable, collections, or billing experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.
• Experience with legal e-billing platforms, appeals, invoice rejections, reductions, and payment disputes.
• Strong understanding of A/R aging, collection practices, and billing issue resolution.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficient written and verbal communication with attorneys and professionals.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned receivables and collections from billing through payment.
• Monitor aging balances, follow up on past-due accounts, and escalate unresolved issues.
• Resolve billing discrepancies, rejected invoices, short pays, and disputes.
• Manage e-billing submissions and appeals, including corrections and denials.
• Review client and carrier billing guidelines to identify payment issues.
• Communicate with billing attorneys, clients, insurance carriers, and vendors to resolve balances.
• Prepare for monthly meetings to review aging receivables and follow-up priorities.
• Maintain documentation of collection efforts, disputes, appeals, and status.
• Identify recurring billing issues and suggest process improvements.
• Assist with monthly AR reporting, aging analysis, and payment reconciliation.
