Job summary

Thomson Reuters is seeking a Legal AI Engineer in the United States to transform how legal work gets done for law firm customers. You will design and test AI-enabled solutions, work with cross-functional teams, and help drive adoption of innovative legal AI workflows across client engagements.

You will collaborate with Customer Success, Sales, and Product teams, lead discovery sessions, scope use cases, and translate complex legal workflows into repeatable solution designs and prototypes.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited US law school is required.
• Prior experience practicing law (e.g., law firm, in-house, government, clerkship) is required.
• Proven experience in customer-facing roles, ideally with Enterprise or complex accounts.
• Familiarity with legal workflows such as due diligence, eDiscovery, or large document review.
• Demonstrable experience with generative AI applications and related tools.
• Experience with workflow automation, APIs, integrations, or technical prototyping is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead in-person discovery sessions and executive briefings with law firm customers.
• Scope AI use cases, advise on workflow and design, and demonstrate capabilities.
• Work with cross-functional teams to develop and execute AI strategies for key clients.
• Translate complex legal workflows into solution designs, prototypes, integrations, or custom development.
• Design, test, and refine advanced Legal AI workflows involving multiple Thomson Reuters products and customer systems.
• Determine when to use Thomson Reuters products, a partner solution, or custom development, and orchestrate the approach.
• Document solution patterns, requirements, implementation considerations, and lessons learned for reuse.
• Support customer advocacy by communicating needs to product and engineering, and identify opportunities to improve products.
• Contribute to thought leadership through events, advisory boards, or customer-facing content.
• Advocate for Thomson Reuters products and articulate their value to customers at multiple levels.
• Travel approximately 25-30% to client sites for engagements and demonstrations.
