Responsibilities

• Manage Leave Requests: evaluate and process requests including FMLA and ADA.
• Consultation: guide colleagues on leave policies and rights.
• Return to Work: review and audit RTW processes with vendors and units.
• Documentation Review: ensure compliance with legal standards.
• Communication: be primary contact for colleagues on leave.
• Collaboration: work with HR, payroll, and management.
• Compliance Monitoring: stay updated on leave laws.
• Record Keeping: maintain confidential leave records.
• Reporting: generate leave usage and compliance reports.

This role will be on-site 5 days a week at Sysco Baltimore, located at 8000 Dorsey Run Rd, Jessup, MD 20794

Job Summary:

The Leave of Absence Analyst is responsible for managing employee leave and return to work processes, ensuring a smooth process for colleagues while adhering to legal requirements and company policies. This role involves coordinating with HR, business leaders, colleagues, and our third party leave and workers comp administrators.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage Leave Requests: Evaluate and process requests for various types of leave (FMLA, ADA, short-term disability, etc.) including coordination of state paid benefit programs.
• Consultation: Provide guidance to colleagues regarding leave policies, procedures, and their rights including state paid benefit programs.
• Return to Work: Review and audit Return to Work process for claims, including Return to Work transitional program, process with external vendor and internal business units to ensure compliance including Return to Work transitional program.
• Documentation Review: Review medical documentation and other required paperwork to ensure compliance with legal standards.
• Communication: Serve as a primary point of contact for colleagues on leave, maintaining regular communication to address concerns and provide updates.
• Collaboration: Work with HR, payroll, and management to ensure proper leave administration and return-to-work processes.
• Compliance Monitoring: Stay updated on federal, state, and local leave laws to ensure compliance and implement necessary policy changes.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and confidential records of leave requests, approvals, and denials.
• Reporting: Generate reports on leave trends, usage, and compliance metrics for management.
