Job summary

Sysco Corp. in Baltimore seeks an experienced Leave of Absence Analyst to manage employee leave and return-to-work processes on-site. You will coordinate with HR, business leaders, colleagues, and external leave and workers' compensation administrators to ensure compliant and smooth leave administration.

The role requires strong knowledge of FMLA/ADA, attention to confidentiality, and excellent communication. You will help monitor leave laws and generate strategic reports for management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience in case management, HR, or leave administration preferred.
• Strong knowledge of leave laws (FMLA, ADA) and company policies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Manage Leave Requests: evaluate and process requests for various leave types (FMLA, ADA, short-term disability).
• Consult colleagues on leave policies, procedures, and rights including state paid benefits.
• Review and audit Return to Work processes with external vendors and internal units.
• Review medical documentation to ensure compliance with legal standards.
• Serve as primary contact for colleagues on leave and provide updates.
• Collaborate with HR, payroll, and management to ensure proper leave administration.
• Monitor federal, state, and local leave laws to ensure compliance and implement policy changes.
• Maintain confidential records of leave requests, approvals, and denials.
• Generate reports on leave trends, usage, and compliance metrics.

Job Summary

The Leave of Absence Analyst is responsible for managing employee leave and return to work processes, ensuring a smooth process for colleagues while adhering to legal requirements and company policies. This role involves coordinating with HR, business leaders, colleagues, and our third party leave and workers comp administrators.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage Leave Requests: Evaluate and process requests for various types of leave (FMLA, ADA, short-term disability, etc.) including coordination of state paid benefit programs.
• Consultation: Provide guidance to colleagues regarding leave policies, procedures, and their rights including state paid benefit programs.
• Return to Work: Review and audit Return to Work process for claims, including Return to Work transitional program, process with external vendor and internal business units to ensure compliance including Return to Work transitional program.
• Documentation Review: Review medical documentation and other required paperwork to ensure compliance with legal standards.
• Communication: Serve as a primary point of contact for colleagues on leave, maintaining regular communication to address concerns and provide updates.
• Collaboration: Work with HR, payroll, and management to ensure proper leave administration and return-to-work processes.
• Compliance Monitoring: Stay updated on federal, state, and local leave laws to ensure compliance and implement necessary policy changes.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and confidential records of leave requests, approvals, and denials.
• Reporting: Generate reports on leave trends, usage, and compliance metrics for management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field and/or equivalent experience.
• Previous experience in case management, HR, or leave administration preferred.
• Strong knowledge of leave laws (FMLA, ADA, etc.) and company policies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
