Overview

The Leasing Consultant is the property’s sales representative, responsible for supporting leasing, retention, and occupancy goals. Leasing Consultants are customer service focused and aim to provide an exceptional experience for current and prospective residents.

The ideal candidate builds relationships, plans events, takes initiative, and remains flexible to meet community needs.

Responsibilities

  • Greet prospective tenants and showcase property features and benefits.
  • Conduct business in compliance with company policies, Fair Housing, ADA, and other relevant laws.
  • Implement and enforce policies outlined in the company manuals.
  • Create a professional and friendly atmosphere in the leasing center and other interaction areas.
  • Inspect models and market-ready units to ensure quality appearance.
  • Relay incoming calls appropriately.
  • Maintain awareness of local competition and market trends.
  • Complete paperwork accurately and promptly.
  • Maintain and work guest cards until prospects choose their home.
  • Regularly inspect the property and report deficiencies.
  • Assist in preparing reports, resident communication, move-ins/outs, and market surveys.
  • Maintain current resident files per company policy.
  • Process leasing applications according to P&P guidelines.
  • Oversee lease renewal programs to maximize renewals.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Plan and oversee resident activities with the Property Manager.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Prior leasing or property management experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong attendance record.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Positive attitude and professionalism.
  • Bi-lingual abilities may be required based on property needs.
  • Experience with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, YARDI is preferred.
  • Ability to walk, stand, climb stairs, and conduct property tours in various weather conditions.
