Position Summary

As a Leasing Consultant, you are a dynamic professional who easily relates and communicates with prospective and current residents of your community. This role is responsible for coordinating the community's marketing, leasing, and renewal strategies to achieve occupancy and revenue retention goals. A successful Leasing Consultant is able to manage their time effectively, is detail-oriented, a trustworthy team player, and takes pride in their work. In addition, this position requires accountability and attentiveness to provide excellent customer service when interacting with residents, associates, and vendors.

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Walk marketing tour path, open target viewing apartments, ensure clean and rent-ready apartments, model homes, and community amenities.
  2. Respond to resident and prospective resident calls and emails promptly in the morning.
  3. Answer incoming calls, convert phone calls into walk-in traffic, set viewing appointments.
  4. Tour prospective residents with energy and enthusiasm the Weidner way.
  5. Ensure successful leasing by facilitating the application process at the end of the tour.
  6. Review and process all applications immediately upon receipt.
  7. Timely and respectful communication with applicants upon receiving results.
  8. Follow Weidner Move-In Experience with all approved applicants.
  9. Maintain and follow up on traffic in queue.
  10. Shop competitive properties at least monthly; adhere to daily marketing and leasing strategies.
  11. Ensure market-ready apartments, common areas, and amenities are clean and maintained daily to Weidner’s quality standards.
  12. Assist team with distributing resident correspondence and notices while maintaining privacy of confidential and sensitive information.
  13. Accompany vendors to vacant and/or occupied units, as needed.
  14. Assist with lease renewals in a timely manner and promote resident retention.
  15. Ensure leasing office is clean, orderly, and professionally presentable at all times.
  16. Create, store, and maintain residential files, ensuring strict confidentiality.
  17. Collect revenues, including rents, deposits, and fees.
  18. Accept and document service requests; follow up upon completion.
  19. Follow all company key logging and storing procedures.
  20. Maintain regular and effective communication with the Community Director.
  21. Promote safety and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to minimize exposure to hazards.
  22. Inspect, respond to, and follow up with safety issues, accidents, liabilities, and emergency situations immediately.
Qualifications
  • Prior customer service experience required.
  • Complete tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong motivation to learn and contribute daily.
  • Ability to give professional directions clearly in person, over the phone, email, and text.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) preferred.
  • Yardi and Paycom experience preferred; willing to learn new software programs.
  • Follow Weidner’s Mission, Vision, and Values; comply with all policies and applicable laws.
  • Prompt, regular attendance; professional appearance and dress code.
  • Work effectively individually and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work outside normal hours as needed.
  • Willing to be assigned to other Weidner properties as needed.
  • Working knowledge of English; detail-oriented and well-organized.
  • Must pass criminal background check and sign drug testing consent.
  • Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, vehicle, and insurance.
