Position Summary:

As a Leasing Consultant, you are a dynamic professional who easily relates and communicates with prospective and current residents. This role involves coordinating marketing, leasing, and renewal strategies to achieve occupancy and revenue retention goals. A successful Leasing Consultant manages time effectively, is detail-oriented, trustworthy, and takes pride in their work. Additionally, this position requires accountability and attentiveness to provide excellent customer service when interacting with residents, colleagues, and vendors.

Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct marketing tours, open target viewing apartments, ensure apartments, model homes, and amenities are clean and rent-ready.
  2. Respond promptly to resident and prospective resident calls and emails.
  3. Answer incoming calls, convert them into walk-in traffic, and set viewing appointments.
  4. Tour prospective residents enthusiastically and professionally.
  5. Facilitate the application process at the end of tours to ensure successful leasing.
  6. Review and process all applications immediately upon receipt.
  7. Communicate results to applicants promptly and respectfully.
  8. Follow up with all approved applicants regarding move-in procedures.
  9. Maintain and follow up on traffic in queue.
  10. Shop competitive properties monthly; adhere to daily marketing and leasing strategies.
  11. Ensure apartments, common areas, and amenities are maintained to Weidner’s standards.
  12. Distribute resident correspondence while maintaining confidentiality.
  13. Accompany vendors to units as needed.
  14. Assist with lease renewals and promote resident retention.
  15. Keep the leasing office clean, organized, and professional.
  16. Manage residential files securely and confidentially.
  17. Collect revenues, including rents, deposits, and fees.
  18. Accept and follow up on service requests.
  19. Follow all key logging and storage procedures.
  20. Communicate effectively with the Community Director.
  21. Promote safety and the use of PPE to minimize hazards.
  22. Respond to safety issues, accidents, and emergencies immediately.
Qualifications:
  • Prior customer service experience required.
  • Ability to perform tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment with motivation to learn and contribute.
  • Excellent communication skills in person, over the phone, email, and text.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office preferred; familiarity with Yardi and Paycom is a plus.
  • Willingness to learn new software.
  • Adherence to Weidner’s Mission, Vision, and Values, and compliance with all policies and laws.
  • Prompt attendance, professional appearance, and adherence to dress code.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Flexibility to work outside normal hours and be assigned to other properties as needed.
  • Detail-oriented, well-organized, and fluent in English.
  • Must pass criminal background check and drug test.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license and insurance.
