Position Summary
As a Leasing Consultant, you are a dynamic professional who easily relates and communicates with prospective and current residents of your community. With a warm and energetic personality, you will consistently find joy in creating lasting and positive impressions. This role is responsible for coordinating the community's marketing, leasing, and renewal strategies to achieve occupancy and revenue retention goals. A successful Leasing Consultant manages their time effectively, is detail-oriented, trustworthy, and takes pride in their work. Additionally, this position requires accountability and attentiveness to provide excellent customer service when interacting with residents, associates, and vendors.
Primary Responsibilities
- Walk marketing tour path, open target viewing apartments, ensure apartments, model homes, and community amenities are clean and rent-ready.
- Respond promptly to resident and prospective resident calls and emails in the morning.
- Answer incoming calls, convert phone calls into walk-in traffic, and set viewing appointments.
- Tour prospective residents with energy and enthusiasm the Weidner way.
- Facilitate the application process at the end of the tour to ensure successful leasing.
- Review and process all applications immediately upon receipt.
- Communicate promptly and respectfully with applicants regarding results.
- Follow up with all approved applicants to ensure a smooth move-in experience.
- Maintain and follow up on traffic in queue.
- Shop competitive properties at least monthly; adhere to daily marketing and leasing strategies.
- Ensure apartments, common areas, and amenities are clean and maintained daily to Weidner’s standards.
- Assist with distributing resident correspondence and notices while maintaining confidentiality.
- Accompany vendors to units as needed.
- Assist with lease renewals to promote resident retention.
- Keep the leasing office clean, orderly, and professional in appearance.
- Create, store, and maintain resident files with strict confidentiality.
- Collect revenues including rents, deposits, and fees.
- Accept and document service requests and follow up upon completion.
- Follow all company key logging and storing procedures.
- Maintain regular and effective communication with the Community Director.
- Promote safety and the use of PPE to minimize hazards.
- Respond to safety issues, accidents, liabilities, and emergencies promptly.
Qualifications
- Prior customer service experience required.
- Complete tasks safely and efficiently.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with motivation to learn and contribute daily.
- Ability to give professional directions clearly via in person, phone, email, and text.
- Experience with Microsoft Office preferred; familiarity with Yardi and Paycom is a plus.
- Willingness to learn new software.

- Maintain prompt, regular attendance; professional appearance and attire.
- Work effectively independently and in a team.
- Availability to work outside normal hours as needed.
- Access to personal transportation; valid driver’s license and insurance.
- English proficiency; detail-oriented and well-organized.
- Willing to undergo a criminal background check and drug testing.
