As a Leasing Consultant, you are a dynamic professional who easily relates and communicates with prospective and current residents of your community. With a warm and energetic personality, you will consistently find joy in creating lasting and positive impressions. This role is responsible for coordinating the community's marketing, leasing, and renewal strategies to achieve occupancy and revenue retention goals. A successful Leasing Consultant is able to manage their time effectively, is detail-oriented, a trustworthy team player, and takes pride in their work. In addition, this position needs to be accountable and attentive to provide excellent customer service skills when interacting with residents, colleagues, and vendors.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Walk marketing tour path, open target viewing apartments, ensure clean and rent-ready apartments, model homes, and community amenities.
  2. Respond promptly to resident and prospective resident calls and emails in the morning.
  3. Answer incoming calls, convert phone calls into walk-in traffic, set viewing appointments.
  4. Tour prospective residents with energy and enthusiasm the Weidner way.
  5. Facilitate the application process at the end of the tour to ensure successful leasing.
  6. Review and process all applications immediately upon receipt.
  7. Communicate timely and respectfully with applicants upon receiving results.
  8. Follow up with all approved applicants using Weidner Move-In Experience.
  9. Maintain and follow up on traffic in queue.
  10. Shop competitive properties at least monthly; adhere to daily marketing and leasing strategies.
  11. Ensure market-ready apartments, common areas, and amenities are clean and maintained daily to Weidner’s standards.
  12. Assist with distributing resident correspondence and notices while maintaining confidentiality.
  13. Accompany vendors to units as needed.
  14. Assist with lease renewals promptly to promote resident retention.
  15. Keep the leasing office clean, organized, and professional at all times.
  16. Create, store, and maintain residential files, ensuring strict confidentiality.
  17. Collect revenues including rents, deposits, and fees.
  18. Accept and document service requests; follow up upon completion.
  19. Follow all company key logging and storage procedures.
  20. Maintain regular and effective communication with the Community Director.
  21. Promote safety and use of PPE to minimize hazards.
  22. Respond to and follow up on safety issues, accidents, liabilities, and emergencies immediately.

Qualifications:

  • Prior customer service experience required.
  • Ability to complete tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Motivated to learn and contribute in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to give clear professional directions in person, over the phone, email, and text.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office preferred; willingness to learn new software like Yardi and Paycom.
  • Adherence to Weidner’s Mission, Vision, and Values, and compliance with all policies and laws.
  • Prompt, regular attendance; professional appearance and dress code adherence.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Flexibility to work outside normal hours and be assigned to other properties as needed.
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail.
  • Must pass criminal background check and drug testing.
  • Reliable transportation; valid driver’s license and insurance.
