Position Summary

As a Leasing Consultant, you are a dynamic professional who easily relates and communicates with prospective and current residents of your community. With a warm and energetic personality, you will consistently find joy in creating lasting and positive impressions. This role is responsible for coordinating the community's marketing, leasing, and renewal strategies to achieve occupancy and revenue retention goals. A successful Leasing Consultant is able to manage their time effectively, is detail-oriented, a trustworthy team player, and takes pride in their work. In addition, this position needs to be accountable and attentive to provide excellent customer service skills when interacting with residents, associates, and vendors.

Primary Responsibilities include:

  1. Walking the marketing tour path, opening target viewing apartments, ensuring apartments, model homes, and amenities are clean and rent-ready.
  2. Responding promptly to resident and prospective resident calls and emails in the morning.
  3. Answering incoming calls, converting phone calls into walk-in traffic, and setting viewing appointments.
  4. Touring prospective residents with energy and enthusiasm.
  5. Facilitating the application process at the end of tours to ensure successful leasing.
  6. Reviewing and processing applications immediately upon receipt.
  7. Communicating respectfully and promptly with applicants regarding results.
  8. Following up with all approved applicants regarding Move-In Experience.
  9. Maintaining and following up on traffic in queue.
  10. Shopping competitive properties monthly and adhering to daily marketing strategies.
  11. Ensuring apartments, common areas, and amenities are clean and maintained daily to Weidner’s standards.
  12. Assisting with distributing resident correspondence and notices while maintaining confidentiality.
  13. Accompanying vendors to units as needed.
  14. Assisting with lease renewals to promote resident retention.
  15. Keeping the leasing office clean, orderly, and professional.
  16. Creating, storing, and maintaining confidential residential files.
  17. Collecting revenues, including rents, deposits, and fees.
  18. Accepting and documenting service requests and following up upon completion.
  19. Following all company key logging procedures.
  20. Communicating effectively with the Community Director.
  21. Promoting safety and PPE use to minimize hazards.
  22. Inspecting, responding to, and following up on safety issues, accidents, and emergencies.

Qualifications include:

  • Prior customer service experience required.
  • Ability to work efficiently and safely.
  • Motivation to learn and contribute in a fast-paced environment.
  • Clear professional communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office preferred; Yardi and Paycom experience a plus.
  • Ability to follow company policies and legal regulations.
  • Prompt attendance, professional appearance, and ability to work outside scheduled hours as needed.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license and insurance.
