Position Summary
As a Leasing Consultant, you are a dynamic professional who easily relates and communicates with prospective and current residents of your community. This role is responsible for coordinating the community's marketing, leasing, and renewal strategies to achieve occupancy and revenue retention goals. A successful Leasing Consultant is able to manage their time effectively, is detail-oriented, a trustworthy team player, and takes pride in their work. In addition, this position requires accountability and attentiveness to provide excellent customer service when interacting with residents, associates, and vendors.
Primary Responsibilities
- Walk marketing tour path, open target viewing apartments, ensure apartments, model homes, and community amenities are clean and rent-ready.
- Respond promptly to resident and prospective resident calls and emails in the morning.
- Answer incoming calls, convert phone calls into walk-in traffic, and set viewing appointments.
- Tour prospective residents with energy and enthusiasm the Weidner way.
- Facilitate the application process at the end of the tour to ensure successful leasing.
- Review and process all applications immediately upon receipt.
- Communicate timely and respectfully with applicants upon receiving results.
- Follow up with all approved applicants using the Weidner Move-In Experience.
- Maintain and follow up on traffic in queue.
- Shop competitive properties at least monthly; adhere to daily marketing and leasing strategies.
- Ensure market-ready apartments, common areas, and amenities are maintained daily to Weidner’s standards.
- Assist in distributing resident correspondence and notices while maintaining confidentiality.
- Accompany vendors to units, as needed.
- Assist with lease renewals promptly to promote resident retention.
- Keep the leasing office clean, orderly, and professional at all times.
- Create, store, and maintain residential files with confidentiality.
- Collect revenues, including rents, deposits, and fees.
- Accept and document service requests; follow up upon completion.
- Follow all company key logging and storing procedures.
- Communicate effectively with the Community Director.
- Promote safety and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Respond to and follow up on safety issues, accidents, liabilities, and emergencies immediately.
Qualifications
- Prior customer service experience required.
- Ability to perform tasks safely and efficiently.
- Motivated to learn and contribute in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to give clear professional directions via in person, phone, email, or text.
- Experience with Microsoft Office preferred; willingness to learn new software such as Yardi and Paycom.

- Prompt, regular attendance; professional appearance and dress code adherence.
- Ability to work independently and in a team; flexibility to work outside normal hours and be assigned to other properties.
- English proficiency; detail-oriented and well-organized.
- Must pass criminal background check and agree to drug testing.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, vehicle, and insurance.
