Job summary

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn property management systems
  • Experience with Yardi, AppFolio, MRI, or similar software is a plus
  • Previous multi‑family housing or property management experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Conduct property tours and showcase available apartments, amenities, and community features
  • Respond promptly to phone, email, online, and in-person inquiries
  • Follow up with prospective residents and assist them throughout the leasing process
  • Process rental applications and prepare leasing documentation
  • Assist with move-ins, lease renewals, and resident transfers
  • Maintain knowledge of current availability, pricing, and leasing promotions
  • Support occupancy goals through proactive prospect follow-up and excellent customer service
  • Serve as a welcoming and professional first point of contact for residents and prospects
  • Build positive relationships with residents and provide timely communication
  • Respond to resident questions and direct concerns to the appropriate team member
  • Assist with resident events, communications, and community engagement efforts
  • Help create a positive and welcoming environment for residents and visitors
  • Maintain accurate leasing records, applications, and resident documentation
  • Enter and update information in property management systems
  • Assist with online listings, marketing materials, and unit availability updates
  • Support general office responsibilities, including answering phones, emails, and document preparation
  • Assist the Property Manager and property team with daily operational tasks
  • Follow established leasing procedures, Fair Housing requirements, and company policies

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated, personable, and customer-focused Leasing Agent to join a multi-family housing community in Madison, WI. This is a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity with strong potential for long-term placement.

The Leasing Agent will serve as a key point of contact for prospective and current residents, helping create a positive experience throughout the leasing process. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, has strong communication skills, and can balance leasing, customer service, and administrative responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
Leasing & Sales
  • Conduct property tours and showcase available apartments, amenities, and community features

  • Respond promptly to phone, email, online, and in-person inquiries

  • Follow up with prospective residents and assist them throughout the leasing process

  • Process rental applications and prepare leasing documentation

  • Assist with move-ins, lease renewals, and resident transfers
