Job summary

TREK Development Group, a Pittsburgh-based real estate developer, is seeking a Lease-up Compliance Specialist. The role ensures LIHTC, PBRA and HOME files meet HUD and PHFA standards during active lease-up, coordinating with a third-party compliance team and investors.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of affordable housing compliance experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Travel may be required as projects expand.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years of affordable housing compliance experience.
• Strong working knowledge of LIHTC, HOME, PBRA and HUD eligibility requirements.
• Experience with compliance submissions and approvals.
• Familiarity with PHFA audits and investor compliance requirements.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Lease-up experience for newly constructed or rehabilitated properties preferred.
• Experience working with investor reporting and file reviews preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Conduct LIHTC/PBRA eligibility interviews per HUD & PHFA requirements.
• Process applications through a third-party compliance department from intake to approval.
• Prepare and submit RPC submissions and address deficiencies as needed.
• Provide organized compliance files and documentation to investors.
• Organize and maintain resident files using Trek checklists and internal standards.
• Ensure all files are complete, accurate and audit-ready at all times.
• Prepare resident files for PHFA audits, including pre-audit reviews.
• Support audit responses and resolve compliance findings.
• Collaborate with leasing and property management teams during active lease-up.
