Job summary

Cable One is seeking a Lease Accountant to maintain ASC 842 lease accounting schedules and support internal controls. The role develops end-to-end understanding of lease processes, with journal entries and analyses to back financial reporting.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s in Accounting and at least one year of general ledger experience, with ASC 842 knowledge preferred. Remote-friendly in select states, offers a strong benefits package and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Financial Accounting with at least one year of practical general ledger experience
• Experience with ASC 842 lease accounting is highly preferred

Responsibilities

• Maintains lease accounting schedules in accordance with ASC 842.
• Develops detailed understanding of the end-to-end process of lease accounting, including stakeholders, systems, accounting processes, and internal controls for reporting.
• Proactively prepares weekly/monthly/quarterly analyses and related journal entries in support of lease accounting.
• Reconciles balance sheet accounts and investigates variances promptly.
• Supports internal and external audit activities, including SOX compliance.
• Completes special projects and analyses as requested by leadership.
• Keeps abreast of FASB, SEC and PCAOB standards affecting reporting and internal controls.
