Job summary

Vancouver Public Schools seeks a Paraeducator in Learning Support to assist teachers, support student learning, and help manage classroom activities during 6.5 hours per day, 9 months per year. This non-exempt role emphasizes collaboration, safety, and adaptability in a diverse school environment.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, plus transcripts or ParaPro assessment results as required; one year of related experience is preferred, with strong interpersonal and teamwork

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Official transcripts or ParaPro assessment (461+) required/strongly preferred.
• One year of related experience in education preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in planning and implementing lessons and learning activities.
• Support student learning and behavior in classroom and during activities.
• Assist with data entry, recording progress, and filing.
• Provide small-group or individualized instruction in reading, writing, math, and social/behavioral skills.
• Communicate with the special education team regarding student needs and accommodations.
• Follow teacher guidance and implement behavior support plans.
