Job summary

Western Midstream is seeking an experienced instructional designer to lead Operations training, onboarding, OQ, and qualification pathways. You will translate procedures and field requirements into structured curricula and measurable competencies, blending e-learning with instructor-led content.

You will collaborate with SMEs, develop learning solutions, and ensure alignment with approved procedures and site conditions while supporting field activities.

Qualifications

• Five years of instructional design and development for adult learners.
• Applies ADDIE from needs analysis through evaluation.
• Translates complex procedures into clear objectives and activities.
• Proficient with Articulate Storyline and Rise 360, or similar tools.
• Strong writing, facilitation, stakeholder management and project coordination.
• Midstream oil and gas experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct role, task, procedure, and performance analysis with Operations SMEs.
• Create onboarding curricula, learning paths, competency frameworks, and qualification maps.
• Define measurable objectives, assessment blueprints, and design documents.
• Design PQ pathways with prerequisite knowledge and field practice.
• Develop computer-based and instructor-led training, videos, and job aids.
• Facilitate SME workshops, design reviews, and obtain content approvals.
• Package and test learning products for the LMS with verification checks.
• Coordinate learning design with program owners and maintain alignment.
