Job summary

K&L Microwave in Salisbury, MD is seeking a Training & Development Specialist to craft curricula, deliver programs, and monitor outcomes for the general workforce and targeted areas. The role partners with Operations, HR, Quality and Engineering to align learning with operational objectives.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in learning and development, with strong communication and project management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Business, Communications, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Knowledge of adult learning principles and effective training methods required.
• 5+ years of experience in learning and development, training, HR, organizational development or a related field.
• Strong project-management and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with employees and leaders at all organizational levels.
• Preferred experience with a Learning Management System.

Responsibilities

• Identify training needs and develop effective learning solutions.
• Design and develop instructor-led and e-learning programs using instructional design tools.
• Develop and maintain an annual learning and development plan aligned with business and operational objectives.
• Maintains the facility’s training plans, curricula, certification requirements, training records, and competency documentation.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs to make recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Support cross-training and employee development initiatives.
• Promote a culture of continuous learning and employee development.
• Coordinate training related to safety, quality systems, manufacturing processes, equipment, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including Kaizen and other process-improvement activities, when appropriate.
• Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, employee feedback, performance data, and manager feedback.
• Product regular training reports and metrics for management.
