Job summary

New York Botanical Garden in New York, NY is seeking a Learning Designer and LMS Specialist to create engaging learning experiences and manage NYBG’s Canvas LMS. The role focuses on delivering high-quality programming for audiences and providing excellent customer support.

You will work with the Continuing Education and Digital Learning teams to develop online and blended courses, train instructors, and ensure accessibility and scalable workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in educational tech, instructional design, or education.
• Experience in educational or museum environments.
• Experience with Canvas, Zoom, or Kaltura.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with diverse audiences.
• Video editing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with NYBG staff to identify and meet teaching/learning technology needs.
• Lead Digital Learning staff and coordinate with IT for platform administration.
• Develop engaging, outcomes-driven learning experiences for asynchronous courses.
• Oversee Canvas administration, user/course management, testing and reporting.
• Provide Canvas training sessions for instructors, students and staff.
