Job summary

The New York Botanical Garden invites applications for Learning Designer and LMS Specialist to support the Continuing Education team by designing engaging, outcomes-driven learning experiences and managing the Canvas LMS. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in educational technology, instructional design, or education; master's preferred.
• Experience in educational or museum environments.
• Experience with Canvas, Zoom, or Kaltura.
• Excellent customer service and communication with diverse constituencies.
• Ability to train and support multiple modalities.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with NYBG staff to identify and meet teaching and learning technology needs.
• Lead Digital Learning staff member interfacing with IT for system administration.
• Develops engaging, outcomes-driven learning experiences for asynchronous courses.
• Oversees Canvas administration: user and course management, testing, reporting.
• Supports LMS integrations and development of templates, courses, content.
• Builds Canvas sites for online and blended courses and handles technical aspects.
• Works with teams to develop workflows, training, and documentation.
• Provides Canvas group and 1:1 training for instructors, students, staff.
• Delivers exemplary customer service for technology-related Education issues.
• Keeps current with online learning research and new technologies.
