Metropolis in New York is seeking a Learning Experience Designer to translate complex learning needs into high-quality, learner-centered solutions, collaborating with the L&D team to develop course materials and video content.

This role supports a fast-growing environment, helps implement a new LMS in Workday, and offers a competitive base salary of $80,000–$90,000 USD plus benefits and stock options.

Qualifications

• Understanding of adult learning theory and basic instructional design models.
• Basic proficiency with eLearning authoring tools such as Rise 360, Articulate, Synthesia.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects and meet SLA expectations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and collaborative mindset.
• Comfort with G Suite tools and quick learner for HR/LMS platforms.
• Experience leveraging AI tools to transform static workflows into high-output processes.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design and development of learning programs, courses, and resources under guidance.
• Apply foundational instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles.
• Translate content from subject matter experts into clear, accessible learning materials.
• Contribute to production of video learning content; assist with scripting, storyboarding, and basic editing.
• Support administration of learning initiatives: testing content, deploying surveys, tracking engagement.
• Maintain and organize learning assets, toolkits, and job aids; align with L&D strategy.
• Evaluate learning effectiveness by gathering feedback and analyzing learner data.
• Stay current on learning tech, AI tools, and L&D trends; bring fresh perspectives.
• Prepare for implementing a new LMS within Workday by auditing content and collaborating with SMEs.
