Job summary

Addison Group is helping a nonprofit client in Washington, DC, recruit a Learning and Development Specialist for a long‑term contract requiring the design and delivery of training programs. You will work with internal stakeholders, creating engaging content across e-learning, in-person, and virtual formats while overseeing LMS administration and evaluation.

The role emphasizes building courses with Storyline, Rise 360, Captivate, Canva, and HeyGen, plus developing guides and assessments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Communications, Graphic Design, or a related field required.
• Master's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Adult Education, Organizational Development, or Human Resource Management preferred.
• Hands-on experience with instructional design tools including Articulate Storyline, Rise 360, Adobe Captivate, Canva, and HeyGen.
• Comfortable conducting needs assessments and translating gaps into practical learning solutions.
• Strong written communication skills for scripts and outlines, plus ability to coordinate projects across formats.
• ATD Instructional Design Certificate or similar credential a plus.

Responsibilities

• Partner with stakeholders to shape learning goals and priorities.
• Evaluate audience needs to determine delivery method (e-learning, live, blended).
• Draft outlines, storyboards, and scripts for training content.
• Build interactive e-learning courses using the listed tools.
• Develop facilitator guides, participant workbooks, and job aids.
• Upload and publish SCORM/xAPI courses in the LMS.
• Coordinate training logistics and track participation.
• Create quizzes and surveys to measure effectiveness.
• Incorporate learner feedback to improve outcomes.
• Handoff source files and assets for transition to permanent staff.
