Job summary

American Electric Power seeks a Learning Coordinator to assist in developing and implementing training strategies aligned with organizational business plans. You will manage learning records, budgets, and reporting while coordinating delivery of programs and materials across teams.

Responsibilities include needs assessments, calendar communication, and collaboration with management to meet training goals. The role emphasizes safety, compliance, and effective stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
• Associate degree with 4+ years in training programs, technical writing, or adult education is required.
• High School Diploma/GED with 6+ years in training programs or adult education is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the development, communication and implementation of learning strategy.
• Maintain and ensure proper maintenance of training records, reports, budgets and cost analyses regarding learning and training programs.
• Schedule, facilitate, coordinate, and evaluate the delivery of training programs.
• Assist with the development, design and construction of training materials and resources.
• Research and recommend appropriate training tools and resources.
• Facilitate and support projects as identified by management.
• Maintain knowledge of federal, state and AEP mandatory safety, health and environmental training requirements.
• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with management and partners to develop and deliver training.
• Support and facilitate training projects, committees and meetings.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Development, Organization Development, Education, Communications or related field

Associate degree in related field such as Business Administration, Education, Training & Development, Human Resources or Communications and 4 years of related experience in developing training programs, technical writing, or adult education

High School Diploma /GED with 6 years of experience in developing training programs, technical writing, or adult education
