Job summary

Williams College in Williamstown, MA seeks a Learning & Development Manager/HR Generalist to design staff development programs and serve as a strategic partner across the College. You will help build leadership capabilities and ensure effective employee relations.

Under the Director for Employee Engagement, you will lead needs assessments, deliver training, advise on performance and workplace issues, and support organizational effectiveness while complying with federal and MA laws.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree + 5 years related experience required.
• Broad HR Generalist background with knowledge of federal and Massachusetts state employment laws.
• Instructional design expertise and adult learning principles.
• Proficiency with Workday, PeopleSoft, applicant tracking systems, and Google Suite.
• Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
• High level of judgment and discretion to handle sensitive employee matters and complex organizational dynamics.
• Commitment to diversity and building an inclusive community.

Responsibilities

• Develop staff development programs for staff, supervisors, and leaders.
• Plan and evaluate institution-wide learning initiatives and workshops.
• Advise managers and staff on employee relations, performance management, and workplace concerns.
• Provide guidance on change management, team development, and onboarding for new managers.
