Job summary

University of Central Missouri (UCM) seeks a Manager for the Learning Commons to oversee tutoring and the Writing Center. You will recruit and train student tutors, coordinate in-person, embedded, and online services, and ensure high-quality support across modes for undergraduates.

You will also develop marketing materials, supervise front-desk operations, and collaborate with faculty to meet student tutoring needs, while tracking outcomes and improving services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in any program.
• Master’s degree in any program related to education and/or student services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations of the Learning Commons and Writing Center (70%).
• Recruit, hire, supervise, and retain tutors and staff.
• Develop schedules for in-person, embedded, and online tutoring.
• Approve tutor payroll and manage staffing with software tools.
• Ensure quality of services and collect usage data.
• Identify gaps and drive improvements.
• Coordinate with Banner, Penji, Achieve student records systems.
