Job summary

CSU Stanislaus is seeking a Learning Commons student assistant to man the front desk and support outreach and special projects. The role emphasizes welcoming students, clerical tasks, and guiding visitors to campus resources using StanTutor.

The position runs as a temporary hourly-intermittent appointment with 10–20 hours per week, starting Sept 14, 2026 and ending May 21, 2027, with possible reappointment based on budget and performance.

Qualifications

• Must have a work study award as part of their financial aid.
• Undergraduate students must be enrolled in a minimum of six Fall/Spring units.
• Post-baccalaureate students must be enrolled in a minimum of four Fall/Spring units.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and route to the appropriate department/staff.
• Assist with filing and tracking using paper and electronic systems
• Assist with running errands to other buildings/departments.
• Assist with data entry.
• Answer phones, emails and route inquiries to staff.
• Refer students to campus and community resources.
• Help coordinate meetings, outreach and events.
• Develop marketing materials and social media connections.
• Collaborate with teams to complete projects.
• Assist with scheduling appointments in StanTutor.
• Answer questions from students, staff, faculty and guests.
• Participate in marketing and outreach events.
• Other duties as assigned.
