Job summary

Penn State University’s Eberly College of Science, Department of Biology, seeks Learning Assistants to support Biology courses during the 2026-2027 academic year. LAs assist teaching faculty by organizing coursework, explaining concepts, and holding office hours and review sessions on campus.

Preference will be given to full-time Penn State students who have completed Bio 163. Applications are submitted online; positions are filled as needs arise, with supervision by the Biology faculty.

Qualifications

JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The Eberly College of Science, Department of Biology, is looking to hire Learning Assistants (LA) to provide support to Biology courses overseen by Teaching Faculty during the 2026-2027 academic year. These positions will be supervised by Barb Dehart. The LA will help faculty organize coursework, explain biology concepts to students, and hold office hours and/or review sessions. Applications must be submitted electronically, and must include the completed online application form. Preference will be given to full-time registered Penn State students who have successfully completed the course for which they will be assisting (Bio 163). Applications will be received on an ongoing basis and reviewed as the need arises.
