Job summary

Penn State University is seeking Learning Assistants for Biology courses in the Eberly College of Science, Department of Biology, for the 2026-2027 academic year. LAs will assist Teaching Faculty, organize coursework, explain biology concepts, and hold office hours or review sessions.

Applications reviewed as needed; preference for full-time Penn State students who completed Bio 163. Background checks will be required; position is on-site at University Park.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled Penn State student preferred.
• Completed Bio 163 or equivalent for eligibility.
• Ability to explain biology concepts and assist with coursework.

Responsibilities

• Assist faculty in organizing coursework.
• Explain biology concepts to students during sessions.
• Hold office hours and/or review sessions as assigned.
