Job summary

Penn State University’s Eberly College of Science, Department of Biology, seeks Learning Assistants to support Biology courses during the 2026-2027 academic year. LAs assist teaching faculty by organizing coursework, explaining concepts, and holding office hours and review sessions on campus.

Preference will be given to full-time Penn State students who have completed Bio 163. Applications are submitted online; positions are filled as needs arise, with supervision by the Biology faculty.

Qualifications

• Preference will be given to full-time Penn State students who have completed Bio 163.
• Ability to explain biology concepts clearly to students and organize coursework.
• Ability to hold office hours or review sessions as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist teaching faculty with course organization and pacing.
• Explain biology concepts to students during sessions and office hours.
• Help prepare review materials and support in-class activities.
