Summary
This role sits within a workplace learning team guided by a training team lead. The Learning Assistant provides administrative support that helps employees access assigned learning activities and keeps trainers informed of outstanding tasks. You work with learners, trainers, and internal support contacts to organize session details, answer routine questions, and maintain accurate completion information. This is a fully remote, desk-based work from home position in Indiana, United States. The role requires a 40-hour weekly commitment. Working days and shift times may vary.
Job Responsibilities
- Review incoming learner emails and the shared learning request queue, identify the requested assistance, and organize tasks according to team priorities and session timing.
- Check learner names, assigned courses, session details, and existing completion information before making permitted updates in a learning management system such as TalentLMS.
- Prepare session invitations and reminders using a scheduling and calendar tool such as Microsoft Outlook, checking meeting links and trainer availability before sending.
- Share approved course instructions, access guidance, and preparation requirements so learners understand where to find materials and what to complete before a session.
- Maintain attendance lists and update course completion entries from trainer-confirmed information, noting missing details rather than assuming that a learning activity was completed.
- Answer routine navigation and session questions using approved guidance, and direct questions about course subject matter to the assigned trainer for an accurate response.
- Follow up with learners about missing confirmations or unfinished assigned activities, recording each contact and bringing unresolved items to the training team lead.
- Route access problems that remain unresolved after standard checks to the internal technical support contact, including clear notes about the steps already attempted.
- Compile simple status summaries showing upcoming sessions, outstanding learner requests, and incomplete updates, helping trainers identify where additional administrative assistance is needed.
- Check finished work against accuracy, turnaround, complete notes, and timely follow-up expectations, correcting errors and confirming that each request has a clear outcome.
