Summary:

As part of the Learning and Development team the Learning and Development Specialist will actively participate in projects focused on aligning learning and development solutions with business priorities. You will manage and coordinate training events and record and control training information for the Learning Management System (LMS). The Learning and Development Specialist will also create learning content in a variety of Instructional Design platforms.

Essential functions:

  • Assist in the planning and execution of organization wide talent development programs and performance management processes
  • Provide oversight for the New Hire Orientation program to ensure effectiveness and consistency across the organization
  • Work with local HR team to deliver the New Hire Orientation program
  • Design and develop training programs using sound instructional design methodologies, technologies, and adult learning concepts
  • Lead the Train-the-Trainer program for internal technical trainers
  • Participate in learning project teams to build positive, collaborative partnerships across the business to enhance organizational culture
  • Provide logistical support for training events including scheduling, planning and operation of these events for local and remote locations
  • Collaborate with the HR team, and business leaders to identify training gaps/opportunities
  • Support the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion efforts and internal Employee Resource Groups
  • Create interactive eLearning course content to support various Learning and Development initiatives
  • Work collaboratively with the HR team to support the SCA Internship program including recruitment, onboarding, and assimilation activities
  • Extensive use and administration of Learning Management System (LMS) to build and schedule courses, classes and events, update enrollments and completions, generate reports and provide front line technical support for users


Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, organizational psychology, or related field
  • 3+ years learning and development/instructional design experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of Learning Management Systems (SumTotal preferred)
  • Experience with Instructional Design platforms and tools such as Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate and Camtasia
  • Experience facilitating in person training, workshops, and information sessions with large groups of employees

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Applies solid judgment ensuring integrity, compliance, & confidentiality

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Exceptional multi-tasking ability.
  • Has a consultative approach to internal business partners
