Armstrong World Industries, Inc. in Marietta, PA seeks an Operations Improvement Manager to lead significant process improvements across manufacturing.

You will drive kaizen events, align projects with plant goals, and mentor teams while building a system-based culture. The role requires strong leadership, data skills and Lean expertise, with responsibility for daily improvement, line basics, and sustaining gains through metrics.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong leadership, facilitation and meeting management skills.
• Experience solving complex, multi-variable problems and implementing sustainable root-cause countermeasures.
• Ability to learn and execute continuous improvement tools such as: 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Poka-Yoke, Standard Work, Yokoten, Agile Methodology, Six Sigma and Kaizen.
• Basic statistical and data analysis skills.
• Computer proficiency in Excel, Word, Power Point, with basic skills in Minitab, Infinity or similar statistical software.

Responsibilities

• Identify and execute value stream or plant-wide improvement projects, determine resources, and procure them.
• Align Kaizen events and Hoshin projects with Value Stream / Plant results.
• Lead Kaizen events – identify team members, prepare agenda, train, implement improvements, track measures.
• Ensure accountability for MDI and Gemba behaviors to achieve results.
• Build relationships with production and support staff to understand ongoing issues.
• Organize and analyze data sets to outline systemic improvement opportunities.
• Coordinate with value stream leadership on improvements and sustainability efforts.
• Serve as back-up to Operations Manager.
