Job summary

Armstrong World Industries is seeking a Technical Services Manager in Macon, GA. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will oversee chemistry, process engineering, and quality assurance to drive operational excellence with Lean and Six Sigma initiatives.

You will lead cross-functional teams, develop departmental goals, ensure compliance with policies, and promote effective communication within the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, quality, engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years of plant chemistry, process engineering, and quality assurance experience.
• 3+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Ability to understand and use various computer software programs.
• Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
• SAP experience.
• Experience training and coaching others on process improvement methods.
• Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Promotes the Plant Safety Process by leading the process and maintaining a high level of awareness and operating discipline for all plant safety policies.
• Develops the departmental goals consistent with Plant, Corporate and Operational goals and provides the leadership for the planning process to meet these goals.
• Manages own organization; guides and advises personnel in interpretation of Plant and Company policies and the Union contract.
• Acts as the plant contact to the Technology Department.
• Leads Lean transformation and related efforts, including daily Gemba Walks, Q&S reviews, and Six Sigma initiatives.
• Oversees evolution and execution of plant quality processes, such as daily board reviews and IPQA performance.
