Job summary

Armstrong World Industries in Macon, GA is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead a ~20-person crew in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will coach staff, schedule work, and drive process improvements using Lean, Six Sigma, and equipment optimization to boost efficiency and reliability.

You will supervise safety, quality, and productivity while coordinating with maintenance and engineering to reduce costs and improve uptime.

Qualifications

• Recent work experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to organize, prioritize and execute tasks.
• Experience implementing changes in manufacturing/maintenance systems.
• Basic computer skills with email and MS Office.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations (e.g., Confined Spaces, Electrical Safety).
• Experience with root cause analysis tools (RCFA, 5 Why).
• Willingness to work different shifts.

Responsibilities

• Leads, manages, hires and trains a production crew of about 20 employees.
• Promotes a safe work environment and trains crew accordingly.
• Ensures production goals are met: yield, throughput, quality.
• Participates in continuous improvement using Lean and Six Sigma.
• Meets Plant Reliability objectives (% uptime, % line rate, scrap rate).
• Maintains and optimizes equipment; trains crew; troubleshoots.
• Prepares daily production schedules and ensures adherence.
• Collaborates with maintenance/engineering to improve equipment performance.
