Armstrong World Industries in Macon, GA is seeking a Technical Services Manager to lead plant chemistry, process engineering, and quality assurance, driving Lean and Six Sigma initiatives. This full-time role reports to the Plant Manager and will shape technical resource alignment with the plant's vision and values.

The position emphasizes developing and sustaining management systems, improving operations, and guiding teams toward operational excellence. Relocation offered; January 2027 start.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, quality, engineering or related discipline is required.
• 5+ years of plant chemistry, process engineering, and quality assurance experience.
• 3+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Ability to use computer software and identify complex problems and options.
• Experience with process improvement methods, e.g., Lean/Six Sigma.

Responsibilities

• Promotes the Plant Safety Process and maintains operating discipline for safety policies.
• Develops departmental goals aligned with Plant and Corporate objectives.
• Manages organization and guides personnel on policies and union contracts.
• Supports Lean transformation and daily improvement activities.
• Oversees evolution of plant quality processes and IPQA performance.
• Develops effective communication within the organization.
• Develops the organization to apply good science across areas.
• Promotes implementation of new process improvements for safety and cost.
