Job summary

Carvana in Indiana seeks a Reconditioning Manager to supervise an Inspection Center team, directing daily operations and ensuring high-quality vehicle reconditioning within a lean manufacturing framework.

You will mentor leads and associates, drive continuous improvement, and manage production planning to meet cost and quality targets while upholding Carvana's standards and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• 5 years of management experience in automotive or lean manufacturing.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
• Experience leading and developing associates.
• Proven ability to obtain project deliverables and company metrics.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid unrestricted driver's license with a clean driving record in the last 3 years.
• Ability to maintain high volume and high-quality content in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work with and through teams to achieve results.
• Strong analysis and decision making ability.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Ability to work overtime and on weekends.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations within the Inspection Center.
• Provide mentoring and accountability to direct reports and succession planning through coaching, leadership development and training.
• Participate in development and execution of strategic plans and objectives.
• Ensure adherence to operating standards, policies and performance standards.
• Create a work environment that promotes positive communication and team cohesion.
• Maintain supervisory staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
• Ensure progression path training and certification processes are consistently executed.
• Train and mentor leads and associates with competency-based feedback.
• Ensure adequate production capacity levels for each line and assist with production planning.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and loss prevention guidelines.
• Provide vision and guidance to the reconditioning team to meet performance metrics.
• Reinforce and engage the team regarding quality, production and cost objectives.
• Lead problem solving and continuous improvement efforts.
