Job summary

Smithfield Foods, Inc. is seeking a Process Improvement Engineering Manager to drive end-to-end optimization across manufacturing sites in our network. You will lead lean initiatives, improve labor efficiency, and advance product quality and cost performance.

You will build and mentor engineering teams, set standards, partner with operations, supply chain, and quality, and deploy data-driven improvements through Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, and SOPs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field and 5+ years of manufacturing/industrial engineering experience.
• 2+ years of team management or project leadership experience.
• Lean manufacturing, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, and statistical analysis experience.

Responsibilities

• Process Optimization and Lean Implementation: analyze and improve manufacturing processes to boost efficiency and throughput.
• Project and Program Management: lead multiple engineering projects from concept to execution with timelines and budgets.
• Data Analytics and Continuous Improvement: use data and root-cause analysis to identify opportunities for performance improvements.
• SOPs and Business Systems: develop labor standards, SOPs, and production measurement systems for consistency.
• Cross-Function Collaboration and Execution: work with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain to align priorities.
• Training, Coaching, and Knowledge Transfer: run workshops and coach teams on best practices.
• Compliance, Auditing, and Governance: conduct audits and ensure regulatory and internal standards compliance.
• Innovation and Technology Integration: research and implement new technologies to improve efficiency and quality.
• Leadership: foster a positive employee experience through development and coaching.
