Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking a process engineer to optimize plant performance through lean initiatives, data-driven analysis, and continuous improvement projects. You will apply A3 problem solving, value stream mapping, and 5S to reduce waste and drive efficiencies on the production floor.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor's in engineering and 2+ years in manufacturing or industrial engineering, with strong planning, communication, and collaboration skills. Relocation assistance may be available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field required.
• 2+ years of manufacturing or industrial engineering experience preferred.
• Experience with Lean, 5S, Value Stream Mapping and A3 problem solving is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Optimize plant performance by evaluating process efficiencies and conducting time/capacity studies.
• Identify opportunities to eliminate waste and reduce production costs using lean methods.
• Lead process improvement initiatives with A3, Kaizen and Value Stream Mapping.
• Assist in technology evaluation and SAP-based documentation and data tracking.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, work standards, and visual management systems.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and leadership.
• Support compliance, reporting, and sustainability initiatives.
