Job summary

General Motors is seeking an LMS/WMS Intern to support Lean Material Strategies in Warren, MI. The role focuses on analyzing warehouse and material-flow processes, improving WMS data accuracy, and developing standard work and dashboards for data-driven decisions.

You will work with cross-functional partners to enhance inventory visibility, material availability, space utilization, and line-side delivery performance.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree and graduating between Dec 2027 and Jun 2030.
• Able to work full-time, 40 hours per week during the summer.
• Willingness to work in a plant environment and travel to GM facilities as needed.
• Experience with WMS/ERP or material-flow processes is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Map current-state warehouse and material flows, identify waste and process variation, and recommend improvements.
• Analyze WMS/ERP data to identify inventory accuracy, transaction, slotting, replenishment, and material-availability opportunities.
• Develop standard work, process maps, dashboards and visual management for sustainable improvements.
• Collaborate with plant operations, logistics, engineering, IT and supply chain stakeholders to test and implement solutions.
• Pilot a WMS inventory-accuracy and material-flow visibility project with baseline, root-cause analysis, dashboards and countermeasures.
