General Motors is offering a Lean Material Strategies Intern role in Warren, MI. You will analyze warehouse and material-flow processes, improve WMS data accuracy, and develop standard work, dashboards, and visual tools.
You’ll partner across plants, supply chain, and IT to drive data-driven improvements. The role requires pursuing a related bachelor's degree, graduation between 2027 and 2030, and readiness to work 40 hours per week in the summer.
The LMS/WMS Intern will support Lean Material Strategies by analyzing warehouse and material-flow processes, improving WMS data accuracy and standard work, and helping translate operational needs into practical process and system improvements. The intern will work with cross-functional partners to improve inventory visibility, material availability, space utilization, and line-side delivery performance, additional special projects in the safety and technology space will be assigned.
The Lean Material Strategies team develops scalable material-handling, warehouse, and digital solutions that support safe, efficient, and reliable manufacturing operations. The team partners with plants, supply chain, manufacturing engineering, and information technology to standardize processes, improve material flow, and enable data-driven decisions through warehouse management system capabilities.
Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren, MI, three times per week, at minimum or other frequency dictated by the business.
