Job summary

General Motors seeks a LMS/WMS Intern to support Lean Material Strategies by analyzing warehouse and material-flow processes and improving WMS data accuracy and standard work. You will partner with cross-functional teams to enhance inventory visibility, material availability, and space utilization.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• Must be graduating between December 2027 and June 2030.
• Able to work fulltime, 40 hours per week during the summer months.
• GM does not provide immigration sponsorship for this role.

Responsibilities

• Map current-state warehouse and material flows, identify waste and process variation, and recommend improvements.
• Analyze WMS/ERP data to identify inventory accuracy, transaction, slotting, replenishment, and material-availability opportunities.
• Develop standard work, process maps, visual management, and dashboards to support sustainable improvements.
• Collaborate with plant operations, logistics, engineering, supply chain, and IT stakeholders to test and implement solutions.
• Pilot a WMS inventory-accuracy and material-flow visibility improvement at a selected operation.
