Job summary

General Motors’ Customer Care and Aftersales warehouse internship is a 12-week onsite program across GM Automotive Parts warehouses in Memphis, TN; Warren, MI; or Burton, MI. The role supervises union-represented operations staff and drives accurate, on-time parts shipments to customers.

You will learn lean processes, lead training and engagement activities, and report to a General Supervisor while developing core leadership and problem-solving skills during the internship.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business, operations, supply chain, or related field from an accredited college or university.
• Graduating between December 2027 and June 2028.
• Available to work full-time, 40 hours per week, during the summer internship.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving ability.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance to direct reports on standard work and policies.
• Support daily warehouse operations under supervision.
• Learn to communicate standardized work and policies.
• Assist with training, coaching, and recognition activities.
• Monitor work assignments to ensure safety and timeliness.
• Identify and address operational issues to reduce disruptions.
• Support employee training and rotation for flexibility.
• Identify improvement opportunities through audits and CI methods.
• Support safety, quality, and cost measures.
• Collaborate with team members and management to improve processes.
• Complete a value-creating warehouse project and present findings.
