Job summary

Meyer Tool, Inc. in Erlanger, KY, is seeking a Project Engineer to evaluate customer drawings and determine efficient machining processes using lean methods to meet quality, cost, and delivery goals.

You will develop process routings, work with shop floor teams, support root cause analysis, and ensure procedures meet AS9100/NADCAP standards.

This on-site role requires GD&T, CAD skills, Six Sigma Green Belt, and the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, mechanical, aerospace, or related field.
• Experience with lean manufacturing and AS9100/NADCAP awareness.
• Ability to read blueprints and GD&T.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent training.
• ITAR US Person status.

Responsibilities

• Identify and understand all customer requirements from PO, blueprints, specifications.
• Review PO requirements using internal system and manage flow down of technical information.
• Develop, prepare, and maintain process routings and operation instructions.
• Assist in developing inspection process instructions and equipment inputs.
• Request tooling, gaging, electrodes, and related items to initiate processing.
• Identify and implement manufacturing process improvements to increase efficiency and quality.
• Provide technical support and communicate with shop floor personnel daily.
• Assist in developing Special Handling instructions for rework.
• Quote work based on requirements with guidance from Engineering Manager.
• Support root cause analysis and change implementation using FMEA, DMAIC, PDCA, 5 WHY.
• Engage in legacy part review to ensure current standards.
• Review jobs for profitability and on-time delivery.
• Assist in troubleshooting production floor issues and implement solutions.
• Assist QE with metallurgical sample acquisition and review results.
• Communicate with customers on engineering issues or new part development with approval.
• Attend customer meetings and assist in training team members.
• Adhere to AS9100, Nadcap, and other quality standards.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
