Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Group in Mason City, Iowa, is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to support lean manufacturing, safety, and quality initiatives on-site. You will interact with production, quality, and engineering to develop and implement improvements that reduce downtime and increase throughput.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering and 3+ years of manufacturing experience with strong problem-solving abilities and proficiency in standard office software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Manufacturing/Industrial/Mechanical).
• 3+ years in manufacturing or process engineering preferred.
• Experience with Lean, Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma or related methods.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; root cause analysis experience.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, and production systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to achieve safe, high-quality, efficient production.
• Collaborate with shop floor, quality, and engineering to implement improvements.
• Design tools, fixtures, and layouts to remove bottlenecks and boost throughput.
• Develop standard work, work instructions, and change requests.
• Lead or participate in Kaizen events and lean initiatives.
