Job summary

PowerSecure, a subsidiary of Southern Company, seeks a Manufacturing Engineer II responsible for ensuring efficient manufacturing methods and process improvements. You'll collaborate across departments, lead lean initiatives, and optimize work center layouts.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and over 5 years of manufacturing experience, specifically with lean principles and hands-on shop floor experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial or Mechanical preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with Lean/Continuous Improvement; Green Belt certification preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills using engineering principles.
• Hands-on production shop floor experience.
• Understanding of integrating automation and AI into manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate cross-functionally to support operational goals.
• Lead shop floor 5S initiatives.
• Develop and improve processes and work instructions.
• Analyze data to identify waste and process bottlenecks.
• Lead Lean activities such as Kaizen events.
• Design and optimize work center layouts.
• Conduct time studies and observations as needed.
