Job summary

PowerSecure, Inc. seeks a Manufacturing Engineer II to drive lean improvements, standard work, and efficient methods across assembly operations.

You will collaborate to optimize layouts, support BOM setup, perform 5S and Kaizen events, and use DFMA and PFMEA to improve quality and throughput.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s in engineering, 5+ years in manufacturing, experience with AutoCAD and ERP systems, and a hands-on problem-solving mindset for speed, quality, and cost reduction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial or Mechanical preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Lean/Continuous Improvement experience; Green Belt preferred.
• Experience in assembly of generators, switchgear, or metal fabrication preferred.
• Strong problem-solving using engineering principles.
• Hands-on shop floor experience and good communication.
• Proficient in CAD, data analysis, and database tools.
• AutoCAD layout design experience; ERP familiarity (IFS preferred).
• Ability to read drawings, 3D models, and BOM/routings.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate cross-functionally to support operational goals.
• Lead 5S initiatives on the shop floor.
• Develop and improve processes, including SOPs and flowcharts.
• Analyze data to identify waste and bottlenecks.
• Lead Kaizen events and VSM/process mapping.
• Design and optimize work center layouts for space and efficiency.
• Support BOM setup, product structure, and routings.
• Maintain facility layouts in CAD.
• Conduct time studies and capacity analyses.
• Improve material flow with Kanban and PO storage.
• Collaborate on product improvements (DFMA, tooling, poka-yoke).
• Provide hands-on support on manufacturing processes.
• Develop solutions for leadership to address challenges.
• Promote a Lean culture and continuous improvement.
• Design and develop tools to improve efficiency.
• Nest parts for fabrication equipment (lasers, water jets, punch).
