Job summary

PowerSecure is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II for metal fabrication, assembly, and Gen Sets in a hybrid role based near Randleman, NC. The candidate will optimize methods, reduce waste, and ensure manufacturability while collaborating with multiple teams to improve layouts and processes.

This role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, 4+ years in manufacturing, and experience with Lean/CI and CAD tools. Familiarity with AutoCAD and ERP systems is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial or Mechanical preferred).
• 4+ years in manufacturing environment.
• Lean/CI experience; Green Belt preferred.
• Experience with generator sets / metal fabrication assembly.
• Strong engineering problem-solving using core principles.
• Effective communication with production teams.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate cross-functionally to support operational goals.
• Develop and improve Standard Work, SOPs, and flowcharts.
• Analyze data to identify waste and bottlenecks.
• Lead Kaizen events and Value Stream Mapping.
• Design and optimize work center layouts for efficiency.
• Support BOM setup, product structures, and routings.
• Maintain CAD facility layouts reflecting improvements.
• Conduct time studies and capacity analyses.
• Improve material flow with Kanban and lean methods.
• Collaborate on product improvements (DFMA, machine capabilities).
• Provide hands-on shop-floor support.
• Propose solutions to leadership for manufacturing challenges.
• Promote Lean culture and develop tooling improvements.
• Nest parts for fabrication equipment such as lasers and water jets.
