Job summary

Sauder Manufacturing Co. seeks a Manufacturing Engineering I to develop, maintain, and troubleshoot processes including routings, rates, standard work, and work instructions in a Lean environment. You will support Manufacturing, Systems, and Customer Care while engineering process improvements for new products.

You will collaborate to create cell layouts, develop workstations and fixtures, and provide hands-on training to production teams. Experience with CAD and ERP systems is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience with MS Office (Publisher, Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Proficiency in CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and SolidWorks PDM preferred.
• Experience with ERP systems and Lean manufacturing principles.

Responsibilities

• Develop manufacturing processes to support new product launches.
• Create cell layouts for one-piece flow and balanced workstations.
• Design and refine workstations, jigs, and fixtures for efficient production.
• Fabricate precision parts using metalworking and woodworking equipment.
• Train production staff on new processes and procedures.
• Analyze process changes to improve flow, reduce waste, and shorten cycle times.
• Create drawings and documentation to support engineering, purchasing, and production.
• Maintain bills of materials and routing information.
• Support manufacturing and customer care with technical questions.
