Job summary

Actalent in Carson, CA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to drive continuous improvement across electronics and aerospace manufacturing, applying lean and Six Sigma, developing robust processes, and leading new product introductions.

You will work with cross-functional teams, design tooling, create work instructions, validate equipment, and train staff, delivering data-driven improvements and ensuring safe, efficient production.

Qualifications

• Experience applying Six Sigma and lean manufacturing in a production setting.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams on improvement projects.
• Ability to read/interpret engineering drawings and translate to manufacturing steps.

Responsibilities

• Lead continuous improvement projects using lean and Six Sigma tools to boost efficiency, quality, and cost performance.
• Head RCCA activities on corrective actions and CARs.
• Develop manufacturing processes, procedures, and tooling for new products to support smooth launches.
• Plan and lead installation, validation, and handover of new equipment to production.
• Design layouts, work instructions, and routings to optimize workflow and safety.
• Train personnel on tools, processes, and procedures to ensure standard adherence.
• Provide engineering guidance for day-to-day manufacturing challenges.
• Estimate labor hours and contribute to planning, costing, and quoting.
• Create/update routings with cycle times and process steps.
• Communicate with customers, vendors about technical issues.
• Design, test, and validate tooling/fixtures for repeatable, safe operations.
• Develop data collection plans to understand process behavior.
• Read engineering drawings to translate design to manufacturing solutions.
• Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
• Present findings and reports to stakeholders.
